On all of the digipaks that I have analysed for pop rock they all have the picture of the artist on them which is the main image. However on mine only the actors in my video are shown. I have done because my narrative is shown more in my music video so they automatically stand out more. Therefore when people see the digipak they will recognise the actors more than the artist. In contrast if I put the artist on the digipak they may not notice it due to him not being very recognisable.
In my music video I have used multiple locations which is often critiqued by other music videos due to it becoming to complicated. Normally its just a performer in one place and two other locations. In our video we used a performer, three major locations, two minor locations and two locations on transport. We managed not to make it to complicated by mainly showing our major locations and using the other locations briefly to show the music video progressing.
Most artists call their album a different name to their song however I used the name of my song for my album cover. I only focused it on one song because its another way of advertising the song if it is on the front cover. Furthermore it will then encourage people to find the album easier.
We used our storyboard as a template for filming. This meant that we alter a lot on the day to make it feel more appraise to eat we are doing. We also had lots of opportunities to film more than we needed and we ended up swapping a lot of previous shots for better ones that we had filmed on that day. We also took out some scenes that we thought was not essential as we thought it would become to compliated for our audience. This was the same principle for the shot list as well.
We chose to have two actors which is generally a normal amount of actors in a music video especially as its about two people being in love as its of the genre pop rock. However our other genre was rock which was combined with pop. Almost all the time this means that there is a band. For example Greenday is a band and they preform together. Although we didn't include a band. We only used one artist as our main artist with no people. We did this because it still had the majoiry of a pop feel to the music video which was easer to display. We also felt that we could focus more on one person which would be useful spending time on creating a better artist.
